Kresy / Clip! - Split

It is an honor for us to kick start with two of the bulwarks of our label: Clip! and Kresy. Two Spanish artists that will attract great attention this year.

Clip!, a Barcelonian with a taste for energic, overwhelming beats, who recently released an ep with Struments. House with a techno flavour and an eye kept on UK groove, he delights us with his mix of strength and exuberance.

“Everyday” is a 4×4 cannonball with wild synths and rave echoes destined to shake any sound system with extreme violence. Killer kicks and hi-hats, encouraged by a passionate female voice. Classic pianos and powerful leads clambering intertwined all through out the track.

“You still love her”, quieter, has a cool cadence, with percussions and vocal melodies that float around with hypnotic flare. The production is clean and tasteful and reminds us to the newest hiphop out there. Really catchy material for the most elegant dancefloors.

Kresy comes from Hivern’s quarry. John Talabot’s label, this platform gave him the opportunity to make himself visible with his most personal and intense tracks. We can also find Kresy’s releases in other great labels, such as Freerange, Retrofit, More Music, Southern Fried Rec or Lovemonk.

“Do you wanna know?” is a retrospective sparkle that remembers the euforic awakening of the rave era. Open pads and acid lines, riding deliberately vintage beats, in what it could be some obscure reference from early Warp releases.

“Brooklyn 70’s” is an evocative house track that drips rhodes sounds and warm pads through a funky beat. Its imposible not to imagine moving frames of the New York traffic, leather jackets, moustaches, adidas and sexy afro- americans, reflected in the back of your subconscious mind.

Four aparently different tracks, but mysteriously coherent. Just the idea we want to develop in Discomaths.
